A change for the 2020/21 academic year is that Forecast Grades are now called Expected Grades.

Assessment of Learning (Summative assessment)

Summative assessment is carried out twice a year for all students. The first assessment (Years 7-10) is conducted in class, with the second assessment taking the form of an end of year exam. Students in Year 11 have their assessments in the form of mock examinations in December followed by their public examinations from May onwards.

Each assessment will build on the learning and knowledge from the previous assessment: Students will be tested on all areas of the subject to date. Each assessment window lasts for one cycle. Students will complete their assessments for all subjects during this timeframe. Parent consultation evenings will follow after the first summative assessment cycle has ended.

The summative assessment grades, a Behaviour for Learning score, and a GCSE forecast grade (KS4) will be reported to parents after each summative assessment.
